Integrating Technology into Education (reflection)
The technology integration into activities Is
one of the most major concerns about educational technologists as well as the
instructional designers as they both aim to improve learning and performance of
the learners. While this concept seems initially strait forward as its name suggests, it is actually more complicated.
In order to have an effective technology integration to any educational context
it is not enough to think only about using the technological tools. The reason why
is because sometimes the misusing of technology within the classroom distracts students
attention to the actual topic instead of enhancing the efficiency of the lesson.
To insure the effectiveness of technology integration into the lesson or
activity it is important to consider two main aspects. 1. The integration meets
the 6 educational technology foundation pillars. And 2. The components of
technology integration which include the technological, pedagogical, and
content knowledge about the topic that has to be taught.
In summary, the main idea behind applying
technology into education is not to just for the purpose of using technology,
you do not have to use any kind of technology unless it adds more value to your
lesson or activity.

ReplyDeleteextremely agree with "sometimes the misusing of technology within the classroom distracts students attention" , I remember my math teachers when I was in high school sometimes show us videos from YouTube, most of us or maybe all of us didn't understood from those videos, he just waste our time and distracts our attention, because a subject like math no need for videos. That was a particular misuse of technology.
ReplyDeleteAll the best.
